For hardware vendors
Make your touchscreen just work on Mac.
A free, co-branded macOS driver that turns your panel into a first-class Mac input device — and a reason for buyers to choose your hardware over a competitor's.
On Mac, your panel acts like a single mouse — no real touch, no gestures, no multi-touch. Every “does it work on Mac?” is a lost sale or a return.
Windows has driver support; on Mac your hardware underperforms through no fault of its own. Gatecaster closes that gap and turns it into a selling point on your product page — not a support burden.
The offer
A reason for buyers to choose your panel.
The core driver is free
Your customers download it (or you bundle a link / QR in the box) and their Mac experience transforms. No per-unit fee for the free driver, ever.
You sell more panels
"Works beautifully on Mac — powered by Gatecaster" is a differentiator no driver-less competitor can match.
It costs you nothing
We monetize separately and optionally, through premium end-user features — never by charging your customers for basic touch to work.
Co-branding
We certify your panel as a supported, recommended device and feature it; you reference Mac support in your marketing. A genuine two-way win.
Why this is credible
Gatecaster already fully supports the ELAN 04F3:5512 controller end-to-end — pointer, gestures, calibration, the works.
We're not pitching vaporware. We're pitching the panel we already make excellent on Mac — and asking to make that official for yours.
What we'd ask of you
- Validation units of the panel(s) you want certified.
- A link or QR to the free driver in your listing, packaging or support page.
- Permission to list your panel as officially supported.
For larger rollouts
- Funded panel support — get a controller we don’t support yet certified on a timeline.
- OEM / bundle terms — pre-install or ship the driver with your hardware under a short OEM agreement.
- Co-branding, support expectations and terms made clear up front.
Commercial license
When you need a commercial license.
Gatecaster is free for personal, non-commercial use. Any commercial deployment requires a separate commercial license — a licensing matter, independent of the app itself.
Kiosk & unattended
Any kiosk, point-of-sale terminal, digital signage, exhibit or public-facing installation.
Business & institutional
Use by or on behalf of a business, organization, institution or government in the course of its operations.
Bundling & redistribution
Shipping, redistributing or pre-installing the Software with hardware, another product or a service.
Paid products on the API
Using the Software, or apps built on its Touch API, as part of a paid product or service you provide to others.
Personal use by an individual — including a professional using it on their own personal Mac for their own work — is not commercial use. The software runs locally, with no account and no network connection; license verification is performed offline.
One call, one validation unit.
We'll have your panel certified and a “works great on Mac” story you can put on the product page.
